Lonesome Road has a big caveat in that you really, REALLY should play it last, and it's not really broadcast that way, save for the level check being the highest, IIRC.ĭead Money is the most unique and probably most interesting, as flawed and occasionally frustrating as it is. Dead Money and Honesty Hearts are a tossup, as while I like Joshua Graham, the 'colonize the savages' aspect of HH didn't really sit well, and I didn't care overmuch for the region. Once the story gets going, it's pretty gripping, and you can abuse the shit out of the vending machines and the poker chips, and/or scour around a lot for resources as soon as you get started.īest is probably Old World Blues, followed by Lonesome Road for me. the second, that it's 'hook' (Elijah is you like Veronica, and/or 'riches' if you didn't) is pretty weak.

the first, that it's a survival-ish 'lose all your resources' trap (along with the stupidity that is the collar exploding) that the player probably isn't ready for the first time, including some really high skill checks and a twisted-maze of corridors with a lot of pink-mist overlap that isn't easy (or fun) to try and traverse I think Dead Money is definitely worth playing, but its got two sizable problems :
